A Manhattan real estate agent suggested that a client preparing to list their Upper East Side condo work with WTS Surface Professionals to boost the property’s marketability. The agent emphasized that surface repairs, along with staging, would enhance the apartment's appeal and add value, regardless of the sale outcome. The client agreed, and WTS was brought in to advise on the repairs to prepare the property for sale.
WTS identified key issues that could affect the apartment’s presentation and created a punch list.
The first priority was the entry door, which showed visible wear and would be one of the first things potential buyers would see. There was also noticeable discoloration on the hardwood floor, which detracted from the overall look of the space.
Additional issues were found in the kitchen. WTS noted problems with the kitchen cabinets and shelves, and the countertops had visible wear that needed attention.
In the bathroom, the sink had scratches, and several window mullions throughout the unit had scuff marks and signs of wear and tear.
All repairs were completed in just three days, with very little disruption to the apartment. There was minimal dust or odor, leaving the condo in like-new condition, perfectly prepped for showings. The client was relieved knowing potential buyers wouldn’t be put off by a scratched countertop or feel they needed to replace the floor due to obvious signs of wear.
Once listed, the condo spent only 1.5 months on the market—well below the Manhattan average of 4 to 5 months. The apartment sold quickly with only minor concessions, receiving multiple offers.
The seller, who works in finance, was thrilled with the seamless process and the real estate agent’s recommendation. He noted that the repairs offered a solid return on investment, making the sale quicker and more favorable than expected.
